Montgomery County Identifies First Case of Monkeypox
The Montgomery County Department of Health (MCDH) has confirmed the first case of monkeypox in Montgomery County on Monday, August 8th, 2022. At this time, the individual is isolating at home and willingly cooperating with public health officials. To protect the individual’s privacy, no further information will be shared. Over 100 cases of Monkeypox have been identified in North Carolina. The Montgomery County Department of Health is working diligently with state and national partners to monitor the current outbreak.
